Murat & Esma Ertel

Murat Ertel, founder and frontman of Istanbul's cult psychedelic folk band BaBa ZuLa, is a vocalist and electric saz player. Esma Ertel, who began as a dancer with the group, has since become a vocalist and percussionist. Together, they are central to BaBa ZuLa, blending traditional Turkish music with modern and experimental sounds.

Their work enriches the band's multidisciplinary approach and its socially conscious artistry. The duo will present their album Simurg together with Çağkan Irmak, Olcay Bozkurt, Ümit Adakale and Bart Vervaeck.
