Heartquake
Heartquake is a choreographic exploration of living on unstable ground, both metaphorically and literally. Drawing inspiration from Turkey's political and geographical realities, it examines how "the land shapes the way its inhabitants think."
How do you envision a future when the ground beneath you is constantly shifting, altering your dreams and plans? In a land where ancient cities were destroyed by earthquakes, how can one build when everything seems destined to collapse? How can you trust institutions, structures built of concrete, when everything continues to fall apart? In these moments, what remains is the support we give each other and the relentless resilience of humanity. Perhaps this dynamic even offers an explanation for the prolonged presence of one political figure.
Anxieties are not merely born from political situations—perhaps all anxieties are inherently political. Corinth, the birthplace of Sisyphus, is one of the most seismically active regions in Europe, symbolizing the never-ending struggle between hope and destruction.
